Talking about abortion access and Planned Parenthood services is one of the best ways you can stand up for reproductive health; but where do you start? Sometimes we get caught in debates or arguments and lose sight of the people who are impacted. For this reason, PPAWI is eager to share the Conversational Approach with you. Rooted in psychology, this interactive 2-hour training gives you the tools to have meaningful conversations and become more effective advocates. This approach to advocacy is used throughout PPAWI from staff to volunteers with the goal of changing hearts and minds. Using the approach, we’ll reconsider our assumptions about what it looks like to support the freedom to decide, acknowledge that people may have conflicted feelings, and find common ground based on shared values.

Join Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin organizers and volunteers as we knock doors in the community! We'll be talking to our neighbors about the services their local PPWI health center provides, as well as community programs and civic issues affecting Wisconsinite’s access to quality, affordable, and confidential health care. Meeting location will be emailed prior to the event. No prior canvassing experience is required. No one canvasses alone. Training and materials will be provided; just bring your fully charged smart phone! Our canvassing program is perfect for new canvassers, or canvassers who have had less than ideal past experiences, to ease in with lots of support. All canvassers get a free PPAWI t-shirt!
