The Texas case, Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), was deliberately filed in the Amarillo division of the Northern District of Texas, a single-judge division where the federal cases are automatically assigned to the Trump-appointed Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk. 

The decision on this motion could come at any moment, and could result in a nationwide ban on mifepristone- even in states where abortion is protected. This would potentially disproportionately impact blue states like New York who have worked hard to not only protect, but expand access. There are some estimates that up to 40 million people seeking access to abortion care could be impacted by taking it off the market. RSVP HERE
