PPGNY x Center for Anti-Violence Education: De-Escalation Training Part IV

Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 10:00 a.m. -  12:00 p.m.

This past Fall, the Center for Anti-Violence Education (CAE) designed a 4-part De-escalation training series for PPGNY Community-facing staff & volunteers. The 4 parts correlate with the different levels of oppression (ideological, institutional, internalized and interpersonal). Participants will gain tools to apply to a range of interpersonal situations, from physical skills to verbal, emotional and social techniques like assertiveness, de-escalation, situational awareness and self-care practices for healing from violence. Each session is facilitated through a trauma-informed lens and centers the experiences of those most at risk for violence.
