I Fight for Planned Parenthood

Last week, the Supreme Court ruled against the rights of patients in South Carolina who rely on Medicaid to choose their own health care provider. Medicaid patients may no longer be able to go to Planned Parenthood health centers in South Carolina for birth control, preventive check-ups, cancer screenings, and STI testing and treatment.

This ruling does not impact Medicaid in New York. Patients with Medicaid can still go to Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic health centers for care.

It’s already hard to afford basic health care and see a provider. Instead of making access to care easier or more affordable, lawmakers are using cuts to Medicaid to push their own political agenda.

Because of “defunding” efforts in states and in Congress, more than a million people are at risk of losing access to quality, affordable care.

Everyone should have the freedom to decide what health care is best for them, not the government. Tell your Congressional Representative that you're fighting for Planned Parenthood today!

Multiple Times and Locations

Time is running out and we need your help! The House of Representatives is gearing up to finalize the budget reconciliation bill and one thing remains true, they are planning to defund Planned Parenthood.

Let's be clear, defunding Planned Parenthood is a backdoor abortion ban and we cannot let that happen. Join us to call constituents in Rep. LaLota and Rep. Garbarino's districts to make sure their voices are heard. The fight is not over and we are not backing down.

Two opportunities to join:

Wednesday, July 2 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., In-Person (Suffolk County)

Thursday, July 3, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Virtual

How Stigma Impacts Policy: HIV

Wednesday, July 9, 6:00 - 6:45 p.m.
Virtual

Join us for a discussion about the impact of stigma on health care policy and access. How we talk about our sexual, physical, and mental health is important, because honest conversations lead to healthier, happier communities.

While new HIV diagnoses have declined significantly from their peak, progress on further reducing them has stalled. Without intervention nearly 400,000 more Americans will be newly diagnosed over 10 years despite the availability of tools to prevent transmissions.

In this interactive training, we'll have an honest conversation about how stigma impacts our lives and learn how to talk about HIV so that more people become comfortable knowing and sharing their status.
