Phone Bank: Fight for Planned Parenthood July 10, 2025 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM CT (Virtual Event) Wisconsin Congress passed a bill and President Trump signed into law on July 4th that "defunds" Planned Parenthood health centers and drastically cut BadgerCare (Medicaid) funding. This bill puts 200 Planned Parenthood health centers at risk of closing, cutting off 1.1 million patients from care and decimating abortion access--including 50,000 patients in Wisconsin. That's birth control, wellness exams, STI testing, cancer screenings — all of it, shut down and gone. This is our moment to act and hold members of Congress accountability for their harmful vote. Join our phone bank alongside others across the state via Zoom, assisting constituents in contacting Congress to tell them: I fight for Planned Parenthood!

How to Change Hearts and Minds On Planned Parenthood-Madison July 15, 2025 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CT Madison Public Library: Lakeview Branch, 2845 N Sherman Ave, Madison, WI 53704 Talking about abortion access and Planned Parenthood services is one of the best ways you can stand up for reproductive health; but where do you start? Sometimes we get caught in debates or arguments and lose sight of the people who are impacted. For this reason, PPAWI is eager to share the Conversational Approach with you. Rooted in psychology, this interactive 2-hour training gives you the tools to have meaningful conversations and become more effective advocates. This approach to advocacy is used throughout PPAWI from staff to volunteers with the goal of changing hearts and minds. Using the approach, we’ll reconsider our assumptions about what it looks like to support the freedom to decide, acknowledge that people may have conflicted feelings, and find common ground based on shared values.

At Café for Choice, we’re diving into SB271, the Reproductive Freedom Act, a groundbreaking bill that aims to restore, protect and expand the full range of reproductive health care, including the right to safe, legal abortion in our state. Let’s gather in a welcoming, inclusive space to share personal stories and lived experiences, learn how to take action and advocate for reproductive freedom. All are welcome, bring a friend, bring your voice, and join us in fueling a movement for reproductive freedom.
